Celebrate Earth Month With Free Plants at John Hunt Park
April officially kicked off Earth Month, and John Hunt Park has teamed up with Huntsville’s Green Team to celebrate by giving away free plants!
On April 12 from 10-12 PM, you can swing by the Jaycee Building at John Hunt Park to pick up free cucumber and tomato plants, along with trash bags while supplies last.
The annual Spring Plant & Cleanup Supply Giveaway is designed to get Huntsville residents active in helping keep Huntsville clean. Supplies are limited, so be sure to get in line early!
Earth Day Celebration at Hays Nature Preserve
While you’re waiting for your plants to grow, you can head out to Hays Nature Preserve on April 20 from 10 AM – 2 PM to celebrate Earth Day.
This free celebration will be perfect for a fun day out with your family. There will be face painting, live music, interactive displays, giveaways, concessions, and a demonstration from the Southeastern Raptor Center
If the parking lot is full by the time you get there, there will be a shuttle service for overflow parking at the Mark Russell Rec Center.
