15 Fun Things to Do This Summer in Huntsville
School is out, and summer has arrived! If you’re like me, it won’t be long until you’re ready to get out of the house and do something fun with your family or spouse.
To help, I’ve put together a list of 15 fun things to do this summer in Huntsville!
Most of my suggestions are recurring throughout the summer, but I did list a few events at the top of the article that are happening on specific dates.
I’ve already marked down a few things I’ll be doing this summer, and I hope you will, too!

The Ultimate List of Fun Things To Do This Summer in Huntsville
Camp to Amp Festival – May 11
The Camp to Amp Festival is back for its third year on May 11. This free event will feature a variety of live music, vendors, chefs, artists, and more.
Downtown Vintage Market – June 22
If you like vintage clothing and collectibles, another fun thing to do this summer in Huntsville is the Downtown Vintage Market. This year’s summer market will be held on June 22 at the Greene Street Parking Garage. Admission is free!
South Star Music Festival – September 28-29
Perhaps one of Huntsville’s biggest summer events is the South Star Music Festival, headlined by Blink-182 and Gwen Stefani. The two-day festival will be held at John Hunt Park from September 28 to 29. Tickets are available now and start at $224.
Trash Pandas
If you’re looking for fun things to do this summer in Huntsville for the whole family, look no further than the Rocket City Trash Pandas. They will play games throughout the summer at Toyota Field and have a variety of theme nights, weekend fireworks shows, and fun summer camps for kids. Tickets can be purchased through the Trash Pandas website.
Greene Street Market
If you like local markets, one of the best fun things to do this summer in Huntsville is go to the Green Street Market in Downtown Huntsville. I go once or twice every year, and it’s always a blast. It’s one of the many farmer’s markets in Huntsville and is held each Thursday from May through October.
805 After 5
The Huntsville Music Office has partnered with Campus 805 to bring a free concert series to Butler Green Park. The 805 After 5 concerts will be held on the third Thursday of every month from May through October.
Trivia Night at Urban Cookhouse
If you’re a trivia buff, Urban Cookhouse hosts a Trivia Night every Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30. It’s free to play, and the top three teams will receive gift cards to Urban Cookhouse. Be sure to check the schedule to find out the trivia theme.
Daytime Food Tour
If you want to learn about some of the best restaurants in Downtown Huntsville, check out the Daytime Food Tour. The tour, which can be booked throughout the week, will take you to six different spots in Downtown Huntsville. Tickets start at $55.
Historic Homes Walking Tour
If you’re a history buff, you might enjoy the Twickenham Homes Walking Tour. The tour will take you on a 3-hour stroll through the Twickenham District, where you’ll learn about 20 pre-civil war homes in Huntsville! Tickets start at $50.
Concerts on the Docks
Every Friday night in May, Lowe Mill will host a concert series called Concerts on the Dock. Admission to the concert is free, but you will have to pay $10 to park.
Concerts at The Orion
The Orion has quickly become a popular concert venue in the south. They’ve got tons of great artists booked, so if you’re looking for fun things to do this summer in Huntsville and don’t mind spending a little bit of money, The Orion is the place to be.
Some upcoming shows include Steve Miller Band, Lainey Wilson, Slash, Koe Wetzel, and more. Tickets can be purchased online.
Downtown Huntsville Art Walks
If you’re an art fan, Downtown Huntsville will be hosting several Art Walks throughout the summer. These free events are a great way to support local artists.
Botanical Gardens
If you’re looking for fun things to do this summer in Huntsville that involve the outdoors, the Botanical Gardens is a great option. They have tons of events going on throughout the summer that will be perfect for the whole family!
Hiking Trails
You might not know it, but Huntsville has some great hiking trails. If you’re looking for some fun things to do this summer in Huntsville, why not grab a friend, spouse, or pet and spend some time outside?
Stand Up Live
