Huntsville’s Make Music Day Is Set For June
Huntsville is gearing up for its 2nd Annual Make Music Day on June 21, 2024. This event is designed to bring the community together through music.
The concert, organized by the Huntsville Music Office and the Huntsville Hospital Music Therapy Program, was a big hit last year.
Make Music Day is a global event celebrated in over 1,000 cities in 120 countries. It started in 2007 and is supported by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation.
The goal is to get people of all ages and skill levels to make music and bring the community together.
Huntsville joins other Alabama cities like Decatur, Florence, Gadsden, Gulf Shores, and Montgomery in this worldwide celebration. The event is open to everyone, no matter their musical background.
This year’s Make Music Day will take place at several locations, including the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce, the downtown branch of the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library, Huntsville City Hall, and Huntsville Hospital, which will all host performances.
“This event shows our vision of becoming a music city. It gives everyone a chance to perform, whether you’re a seasoned guitarist or a beginner pianist,” says Matt Mandrella of the Huntsville Music Office.
It’s easy to join Make Music Day. Performers and venues can visit the Make Music Day Huntsville website to sign up. Performers can create profiles to share their musical style, and venues can browse and invite artists to perform.
Make Music Day is a great chance for Huntsville residents to connect with their community through music. It’s a day to celebrate local talent, discover new artists, and enjoy different musical styles. Whether you’re a performer or a spectator, there’s something for everyone.
Make Music Day is not just about performances; it’s also about discovery. Attendees can explore different musical styles and instruments, join workshops, and even try making music themselves.
Mark your calendars for June 21, 2024, and join in the festivities as Huntsville comes alive with the sound of music.
