There are 12 outdoor courts that are all fenced off, which is nice because it keeps you from chasing too far after your ball. It also has overhead lighting, allowing you to play into the evening hours.

If you live in South Huntsville, this is definitely the best place to play pickleball.

In October 2023, the City of Madison expanded the area to include 12 lighted courts, giving plenty of space to play.

While it’s not open at the time of writing, the City of Huntsville announced in October 2022 that new pickleball courts will be coming to John Hunt Park!

The new 53,000-square-foot recreation center will include outdoor pickleball courts, along with four-size gyms, office space, and more.

The project is set to be finished in Spring 2024 and will definitely be some of the best pickleball courts in Huntsville!
